And the Words; They Just Come Out of my Mouth

When Lila was 5 months old I’d go:

“Can you say Mommy? Say Mommy…”
“Wow, you really like your vegetables, don’t you?”
“Can you turn over? Try to turn over…”
“Ah, you’re awake! Coucou!”
“Look at all that saliva, you must be teething!”
“Time to change your diaper…”
“Goodnight.”

Now that Lila is 2.5 years old I say:

“I’m not deaf. Jesus Christ. Stop shouting my name every ten minutes.”
“Broccoli is not a vegetable, it’s a baby tree. You think it’s a vegetable but it’s not.”
“Can you stop turning for one second.”
“You’re awake? Already?!”
“Stop spitting. Seriously.”
“Oh. My. God. Time out! Go to your room!”
“Excuse me, aren’t you supposed to be in bed?”
“Goodnight.”
